Cads after a pick of grass.

Warm and pleasant again this morning with another dry day forecast.

A disappointing day at the office yesterday with nothing going right at Lingfield. Justice First was slowly away from his wide draw and could never land a blow. We might back him up quickly and get the blinkers back on.

Both Europa and Shurfah were green and travelled with little zest. They both go better than that at home.

Sporting Prince well and truly threw his toys out of the pram and just simply wouldn’t race. It is very much back to the drawing board with him now.

We had one saving grace at Leicester with Kafoo making a pleasing debut. He was snatched up leaving the stalls and raced away from the main protagonists when the tempo lifted. Paul didn’t give him a hard time at all and the form is likely to prove useful. He looks capable of winning a maiden.

No runners today and just the one declaration for Friday with Hanno heading to Brighton for the 1m handicap. We were toying a little about running him again so soon, but a 1lb rise for his Lingfield third means 0-70 company would be off the agenda after this so we thought we would take our chance.

A handful of entries but nothing too startling. We also put Manndawi and Red Cadeaux in the Irish St Leger although we have not made any firms plans for Cads yet. He remains engaged in the Coronation Cup and the Hardwicke – we scratched him from the Prince Of Wales’s yesterday – and he is likely to have one or two runs before being prepared for a fifth tilt at Melbourne.

No finally today I’m afraid – everyone managed to stay intact this morning!
