The string racecourse side.
The sun continues to shine in the Mediterranean.
A very brief update today – no runners but one declaration for Newmarket on Friday with Hajeer set to line-up in the six furlong fillies’ maiden. She shaped well on her debut at Kempton and we’re looking forward to running her on the grass.
Three entries for Tuesday – Pyla and Kitten’s Red could go to Brighton while Souk Al Tahab is a possibility for Chepstow.
Manndawi also got an early closing entry in the Prix Maurice de Nieuil. He shapes like the mile and a six would suit him and we have a chance of getting some give in the ground at Longchamp, so that looks an interesting next target.
The cricket yesterday was sensational – if the Ashes is even on a par with what we have seen so far this summer then the second-half of the summer could live up to that incredible series ten years ago.
The mini-break is drawing to a close so I’ll do my best to emulate Jordan Speith before we return to Newmarket.
