Oasis Fantasy

It’s overcast but muggy again here in Newmarket and whilst it threatened to rain earlier, it has remained dry. As you are likely to have read earlier through my tweet, Red Verdon will unfortunately not be running in the St Leger. It is a great shame but we have to put the horse first and as I have stated publicly, we have not had an ideal preparation and I was not happy enough with him this morning to risk running him in a Classic. We did not declare Trip To Paris for the Doncaster Cup this morning as I have decided to run him over the shorter distance of fourteen furlongs at The Curragh on Sunday. We will have a very hard task on our hands as Order Of George is an exceptional racehorse but it is a valuable race that will cut up and we will know where we stand with him after Sunday.

We had three runners at Leicester yesterday, Qeyaadah was too keen over 7f on his return from a break but he was not beaten too far and hopefully he can build on this next time. Sporting Times ran a very good race in the 7f Maiden, he will stay further in time but he was a long way clear of the third and the winner looks like a promising horse. AlEmaratalyoum was too keen on his first visit to a racecourse and as a consequence he did not finish his race off when asked, he showed promise for the future.

Oasis Fantasy is our only runner today in the 4:45pm at Doncaster and on the weights he would hold every chance. We hope the ground continues to dry out and he is wearing a visor for the first time. He has not run in a small field before and so we don’t know how that will suit him but he does show us speed at home, Silvestre De Sousa won on him at Newmarket and he has run two fine seconds for him in big handicaps during the 2016 campaign.
