Oceanus
The skies are clear here once more in Newmarket and it is bitterly cold, temperatures shot down to close to -10oc last night! It was sad to see Sagaciously sell yesterday evening but she sold very well for 185,000 Guineas having been bought for £20,000 as a yearling.
Arnarson ran very well on debut when third at Wolverhampton and he broke smartly and held every chance before the two market principles with experience got the better of him late on. The race looked above average for this time of year and I am hopeful he can break his Maiden in the not so distant future.
Oceanus runs in the Mile Nursery at Kempton this evening at 6:25. He was very disappointing last time but the ground was much faster than the official description and he did not let himself down on it. We have freshened him up since and he appears to be thriving at home, I have put the cheek-pieces on to help him concentrate. It looks a competitive race and African Beat is the most unexposed horse in the race but he is drawn wide in thirteen. Wordsearch is progressing with every run and Habbad has suggested that this step up in trip would suit.
