Sparkle

It started as a supposed shower yesterday and the rain continues to fall in HQ!! We have had around 75mm now and whilst it was desperately needed, I am not sure we needed quite this amount!

I was very happy when Carol shed her Maiden tag at Chepstow on Monday. She has been showing us more and more speed at home and her sire appears to have put some speed into her. She travelled very well and won with great authority in what was more than likely only a fair Maiden. It seems that the BBC breakfast team latched onto her and some of the viewers ended up backing her and donating money to charity, which is fantastic.

Sparkle runs this evening in the 7:10 at Kempton. She has a double figure draw which is unfortunate as it makes it tough when you are drawn high at the Sunbury venue. She has dropped back to a nice mark of 70 and the 7f trip tonight will be much more to her liking. If she had a low draw I would be confident she would run well and I hope she can overcome stall ten and run with credit. Dusky Maid is a filly in form and she has won her last two. Arts Desire remains with promise and Know The Truth is unexposed but it does not look an incredibly deep race.
