Dubai Frame
It is a beautiful day here at HQ and the ground is on the fast side as a result of the recent dry weather.
First Quest ran well when second at Yarmouth yesterday. He ran into a progressive rival and will now head to the sales next week. Mutabaahy also ran respectably on handicap debut when fifth in the Nursery. Navajo Squaw and Goldspun ran with promise in the fillies’ 1m Novices. Global Spirit settled much better when third at Kempton. Conflagration and Global Wonder were unable to make up ground from the rear in the 6f Novice.
We run four horses today at Newmarket. Canimar ran with promise when showing signs of inexperience on debut and if she can build on that she has small each way claims in the 1:45. Dubai Frame makes his debut in the 2:55. Elwazir sets a good standard and Key Victory is a well-bred son of Teofilo who has to be respected. Our colt looks like a horse who will improve as he matures and this is a first day at school for him and I hope he will learn a lot from the experience.
Al Nafoorah runs in a very competitive fillies’ handicap at 3:30. She has had a fantastic season and appears to handle all ground, so I hope she runs respectably today. There are others in the field who are less exposed than her but if they don’t step forward then she should not be too far away. Highcastle is our final runner in the 4:40 and he is another three year old type who is still learning about racing. I hope he can improve on his debut run but there look to be some nice types in here and he is a horse for next year.
