Crystal Dome
It is a dry morning here in Newmarket and the Cambridgeshire meeting should start on beautiful good ground. It was extremely misty throughout most of the morning but the sun is now breaking through and it should start to dry out the ground a little. We worked some horses on the limekilns earlier and the ground was in excellent condition.
We just had the one runner yesterday and Makman was never able to get into contention after being dropped in from his wide draw. He had to come wide around the bend and the horses near the front were favoured.
Crystal Dome headed up to Redcar yesterday and contests the 3:55 one mile Nursery this afternoon. He has a high draw but we hope it will not prove a disadvantage, our colt has shown some promise in Maidens and I hope he can be competitive off of a mark of 65. Magdalene Fox runs in the first division of the 7f Maiden at Kempton later this evening, he is a lovely scopey son of Foxwedge who will improve with time. Oud Metha Bridge runs in the 6f Maiden at 7:10 and he is a likeable son of Helmet but he has been drawn in stall twelve which will be very difficult to overcome on his first start.
