The Indian summer has disappeared and it has turned into a miserable afternoon here in HQ. I hope the wind on Saturday is not as strong as predicted but it looks like Champions Day may be run in stormy conditions which would be a shame.
Blushing Red was disappointing yesterday at Leicester, the ground may have dried out too much for him but he failed to finish his race.
We run Ruysch this afternoon at Nottingham. The rain has stayed away so far and I hope she will handle the conditions. She was far too free in the blinkers last time but we have taken the headgear off and I hope she will stay the mile trip. She shaped as if she would at Epsom when finishing her race well and if she does then she has each way claims in an open Nursery. Polar Light caught the eye last time over 6f and given she is bred for this extended mile trip, she could be the biggest danger but it is a very tricky race and many horses have claims.
