It has been very breezy in Newmarket and the wind has been blowing up at Doncaster which has caused the ground to dry out a little. Autumn really has come and it is now only just over two weeks until the Cambridgeshire meeting here, time has flown by very quickly.
Sileel broke her Maiden last night up at Newcastle, she has been consistent on the all-weather and she was game last night when making all. She was able to dictate the race at sensible fractions and P J McDonald gave her a good ride. Amlad was very game and he was just beaten by a progressive individual who is lightly race. Our colt should improve over further and I hope we can find some decent ground back on the turf for him before the season is out.
Red Verdon is our only runner today in the 10f Conditions race at Doncaster. Only the four runners go to post but it is a competitive little contest. Our horse has had a break since Newmarket and he seems fit and well at home. He will come on for the run and it is a stepping stone for him but he is fit enough to run a nice race. Mount Logan has been very consistent and finished ahead of us at Newmarket whilst Mirage Dancer remains unexposed and he ran well behind Benbatl in the Hampton Court at Royal Ascot. Sumbal has been off for nearly a year but he is talented and could have a say if he is ready to roll. I expect it to be a very tactical race which might not suit us as we have form over further but the ground should suit him more than one or two of the others.
