Trip To Paris
The weather has got a little cooler in Newmarket after a warm spell recently. They have been watering ahead of the Craven meeting next week and I hope that this will ensure good ground at the Rowley Mile. We look like having some horses to run next week but I would not want fast ground for many of them. I have been at the Doncaster Breeze Up sale today and the market is very strong as expected.
Arnarson ran very well yesterday when third at Lingfield. He was beaten by what would seem to be a very good horse in Eagle Creek and was not far behind Mathix in third. There was a gap back to the fourth and although it is frustrating he is still a Maiden, I remain convinced he can win a race soon.
Trip To Paris is our only runner in the Further Flight at Nottingham this afternoon. He owes us nothing but he has been disappointing recently and I am hoping that the blinkers can spark a revival. He worked well before heading to Dubai and has pleased me since he returned but I am hopeful of a good run rather than being confident of one. The faster ground will be a positive and Ryan Moore has won on him both times he has ridden him. It looks a strong race with Wall Of Fire still having potential to improve further and Moonrise Landing is a very smart filly who gets a valuable five pound allowance. Elidor runs well fresh and is a solid yardstick who has every chance of being involved whilst Culmination is an unknown who has a lot to find his bare form.
