The string in the outdoor ring.
Overcast and generally quite miserable.
A busy work morning on the short gallop and the Al Bahathri. Nine went up the grass including Zarwaan, who was in excellent form under Richard Hills. He has the option of the Park Stakes or a conditions race at Lingfield over seven furlongs on Saturday.
Mr Milmo dropped in to watch his battalion second and third lot with a visit to Debby’s Diner in between. Trevor Milner was here to see Fieldsman out at exercise mid-morning.
Great British Racing International also paid us a visit shortly before lunch to shoot some promotional shots of Trip To Paris, Red Cadeaux and Manndawi before they head into quarantine on Thursday. Matching jackets, hats and coolers were in full force!
One runner at Leicester this afternoon with Sagely set to make her debut in the mile fillies’ maiden. She is a Frozen Power half-sister to Sagaciously, who incidentally won this race last year at 50-1! It would be nice to repeat the dose, but this looks a good race with Bo Bridget and Sepal in there, and our filly will certainly benefit from this initial experience.
Six declarations for Thursday. We send three to Doncaster – Sharaakah in the fillies’ nursery (James Doyle), Island Remede the Park Hill (Paul Hanagan) and Qeyaadah the valuable sales race (Dane O’Neill). We also send three to Chepstow – Blushes (Tom Queally), Hajeer (Martin Lane) and Hanno (Tom Queally).
Two entries for Monday with God Willing a possibility for Wolverhampton and Justice First given the option Brighton. We also gave Zarwaan an early closing entry in the Challenge Stakes.
