Another busy day shooting so just a brief update.
We saddle three this afternoon. Kitten’s Red drops back to the extended mile at Beverley and I’m pleased the rain has relented as he wouldn’t want the ground any worse than good. He has been a largely frustrating horse, but that does mean he remains on a good mark, and while his draw is tricky a stiff test at this trip ought to suit.
Clarentine drops to a mile at Lingfield as she hasn’t been quite seeing her races out and she made a promising debut over this course and distance in the spring. She, too, appears to be on an ok mark and we would love to get a win into her for breeding purposes.
Lastly, Arethusa returns from a 93-day layoff in the mile handicap at Kempton and she is entitled to need the run. This looks a warm race on paper as well, but hopefully George Baker can get some cover from a wide draw and she should be doing her best work late.
Three declarations for Thursday – Blushes and Tartoor head to Chelmsford while Field Of Light runs in the Newmarket Whip.
Finally, Victoria Pendleton makes her second start under rules at Beverley this afternoon in the 5.30. Be sure to watch if you can!
I’ll leave it there – back tomorrow.
