Trip To Paris and Manndawi completing a piece of work this morning.
Cold and overcast.
Gloom presided over the Heath for much of the morning but we sent nine up the long gallop first lot including Pyla, who will seek her third victory of the season at Bath on Sunday.
We were out of luck yesterday but Scrutinise turned in another gallant performance in defeat and the race didn’t pan out particularly well for him. He remains progressive and we are looking forward to next season following his withdrawal from the HIT Sale.
Harry was out bright and early with us again before the second day of Book 2. We picked up three yesterday including two exciting colts by Holy Roman Emperor (Lot 601) and Big Bad Bob (681). Both are for immediate sale and looked particularly good value for the price. Please do get in touch if you would like more information.
Trip To Paris has drawn barrier five for Saturday’s Caulfield Cup and congratulations to part-owner Andrew Gemmell, who was on duty for us Down Under and did a cracking job getting an inside berth!
TTP completed his final piece of work before the weekend with Manndawi this morning and both Robin and Steve were delighted with him. Tommy Berry will ride so long as Quest For More does not line-up, otherwise we will be forced to rethink our plans. The race looks particularly competitive but we feel a prep run is important ahead of the big one on November 3.
One domestic runner this afternoon with Archimento, an Archipenko half-brother to the Group 3-winning stayer Cubanita, making his debut in the seven furlong stallion-restricted maiden at Leicester. He has done everything quite nicely at home and is a lovely prospect for next year, with this run likely to bring him on plenty.
Back tomorrow.
