Armum
We have had a little rain this morning here in Newmarket and it is currently overcast. We worked a lot of horses on the Limekilns throughout the morning and it will not be too long until some more two year old newcomers hit the track.
Qaaraat was very unlucky yesterday, he met some trouble in running but it was pleasing to see him finish his race off. There is definitely a race to be won with him. Warrior Prince was disappointing but his jockey felt he needs to be tried on better ground, the rain got into the ground at Windsor and it was softer than the official going description.
We run two horses today at Goodwood and Kempton. Armum has had a break since Royal Ascot and it will be interesting to see how she gets on in a wide open Nursery at 3:15. We are still learning about her and we believe 6f is her optimum trip, the form of her win has worked out quite well and this is a big drop back in grade after The Albany. Golden Salute is tough and she has won both her last starts whilst Neola was fifth in the Queen Mary and although she has to give away plenty of weight, these are much calmer waters for her.
Weloof runs in a Kempton 0-75 1m handicap at 6:50. He is a horse who has lost his way but is one that we feel possesses a good deal of ability. We are trying a tongue tie this evening and I hope that this can help us unlock the potential he shows us at home in the mornings. Noble Masterpiece won on his handicap debut at Yarmouth and is likely to be the type of horse that will keep on improving. Habbad came back to form last time and he has to be respected but he has been hit hard by the handicapper.
