Global Art

Good morning from Newmarket. After a flurry of activity last week, we have a relatively quiet few days in store. Our only runner today is Global Art in the 6.20 at Chelmsford.

Six will go to post for what should be a competitive little 0-70 mile handicap. Global Art ran with promise at Ascot on his only outing as a two-year-old, and demonstrated that he had trained on well with his earlier efforts this year. He was third in a Wolverhampton novice on his comeback, then fifth in a couple of fair maidens at Newmarket. Those efforts earned him a rating of 72, but in three handicap efforts since he has rarely looked like getting off the mark. In fact, his last run at Haydock was very poor indeed, as he was beaten nearly twenty lengths.

However, he has been given some time off since that effort and is aided by a pair of blinkers today. The application of a new form of headgear, combined with a drop back to a mile, will hopefully spark him back to life. I cannot be confident, but he has the ability to go close and should be capable from this sort of mark, so fingers crossed! Gerald Mosse rides.

All the best,
Ed.
