Zamjar
It has been an overcast day here at HQ but we look like we are going to have a dry week. York will start on fast ground unless they have a lot of rain tomorrow morning and then it may be closer to good. It promises to be an unforgettable meeting and there are heavyweight clashes in all of the big races.
Amlad was a little unlucky on Sunday at Beverley, he had to drop in from his draw and he was only beaten by around a length at the finish. Arnarson disappointed at Thirsk yesterday and Oud Metha Bridge needs to step back up in trip. Michael’s Mount ran very well at Windsor yesterday evening when second and was just outbattled at the finish, he loves the soft ground and I hope we can find some ground again for him soon.
We run Zamjar and Titan today. Zamjar runs in the 4:00 at Brighton and there are only the four runners. He ran very well last time when running into trouble and a reproduction of that will see him go close. We could have done without the recent rain but the ground does not look too bad there and I hope he handles it. Buxted Dream got back on track last time after a run of places, Bahamian Sunrise won a slightly lesser affair and Otomo came back to form at Salisbury. It is a trappy affair.
Titan drops back in trip to 1m4f in the 5:15 at Kempton but he has been drawn out wide in stall 10 which is unhelpful. The favourite won well at Kempton on handicap debut last week and he looks the horse we all have to beat.
