Sporting Times
A beautiful day here in HQ and the sun shone brightly. We worked some older horses and some two year olds on the Water Gallop this morning over on Racecourse Side and I was happy with how the horses went.
It was a frustrating day yesterday as Al Nafoorah was second for the fourth time in a row. She was beaten by a filly who came fast and late from the rear of the field and I feel sorry for our filly as she is so consistent and tries very hard. King Kevin ran better and showed up well for a long way before tiring late on. Mudallel settled much better when finishing fourth in the 6f Maiden at Windsor, the trip proved to be too short for him but we hope he can now settle when we step him back up in trip. Red Master did not face the blinkers in the last race and he was never travelling at any stage.
We run Sporting Times today in the 5:50 at Lingfield. It looks a competitive little Maiden with Asaas holding a rating of 80 after three runs. He has not really progressed from run to run but it is solid form. Creek Walk showed good promise on debut when running to a mark in the mid 70s and the form has been franked to a degree, he is also a live danger. Tyrolean and Abaad have shown some ability but may be better in handicaps. Our gelding ran very well on debut last year, he appeared to get a little tired when he was fourth at Nottingham on his seasonal reappearance but the form of the race hasn’t worked out yet with the two horses around him getting beaten recently. He is a likeable type who will progress as we go through the season and he should appreciate further in time. I hope he will run a nice race.
