We have been experiencing milder weather here in Newmarket but I am sure the colder weather will soon return. I worked some more horses on the Al Bahathri this morning and they are on track to run within the next two weeks.
Sparkle was fifth in the seven furlong Nursery yesterday, she got caught a little further back than ideal but the winner is progressive and won well. She should stay further next season and I will give her a break now. Dutch Uncle had to drop in from his wide draw and travelled well before flattening out in the final furlong. I will bring him back in trip next time and we will have to hope the draw is kinder to us, the winner Towerlands Park looks like he could be smart.
Magdalene Fox once more has a less than ideal draw in stall ten back at Chelmsford this afternoon. It looks like a typically wide open 0-60 Nursery but if Viola Park can repeat his Wolverhampton run then he will be hard to peg back from stall two. Callum Shepherd has been coming in to ride work for us and has been in good form of late, he takes off a valuable three pounds. If we can slot in from his draw then he would have a small each way chance as he made up some good ground from the rear last time.
