We are having our second pleasant day in a row here at HQ and the thermometer is due to rise to a balmy 11oc. The declarations have been made for the Lincoln and it looks a typically competitive renewal with unexposed improving types in there as well as smart horses who have been given some relief by the handicapper. Dark Red is in good form and I hope he can run a good race on ground that will suit him.
Arnarson was undone by a messily run race last night and he faded out of contention late on in the race at Kempton. He is on a career high mark now but he should still be competitive in a truly run race over 7f.
King Kevin is our only runner today at Chelmsford. He remains in good form and Callum Shepherd is taking three pounds off given we are running him three pounds wrong at the weights. There are only five runners and it could be a very messy race but Nonios is our only rival in top form and King Kevin holds strong claims once more. Blue Rocks beat us at Wolverhampton but he is running six pounds wrong at the weights and we were unlucky in behind him that day. Van Huysen has dropped to an attractive mark but he would also prefer a strong gallop and Baz has some strong French form so he can’t be ignored but he has been out of form.
