I am told it has been incredibly windy in HQ this morning but thankfully the wind has died down now and the damage has been limited to the odd tree being uprooted.
Garsington makes his handicap debut this evening in a six runner affair at Chelmsford. He is bred to appreciate the step up in trip to ten furlongs and I hope he can show us something this evening as he did not make an impact in Novice company. Surrey Blaze finished his race off strongly when winning at Wolverhampton recently and on that evidence this step up in trip to ten furlongs should hold no fears for him, Headwear finished behind him in fifth and she didn’t shape as if she would turn the form around here with Surrey Blaze despite a six pound pull at the weights. Forricherforpoorer and Pretty Pearl are in the same boat as us in that they have cut little ice so far in Novice company and make their handicap debuts. Amenhotepthethird has shown very little in all five starts and is therefore fifteen pounds wrong at the weights. It does look an ideal opportunity for Surrey Blaze to follow up his recent win but we are in the right race and I hope this step up in trip can spark Garsington into life and see him improve on what he has done so far.
