SNOW FAIRY emulated the achievement of the amazing Ouija Board when on July 18 she brilliantly added an Irish Oaks crown to success in the English equivalent.
Trainer Ed Dunlop's charge was only a narrow winner at Epsom at the start of last month, but at the Curragh she turned in a real champion's performance to score in majestic style.
Cristina Patino's improving filly stepped up again on her Oaks heroics with victory by a thumping eight lengths.
It was the third time that Dunlop had triumphed in the Irish Oaks as Snow Fairy followed in the hoof-prints of Lailani (2001) and Ouija Board (2004).
Jockey Ryan Moore never had a moment's worry in this latest Group 1 victory for this daughter of Intikhab.
As Ice Empress set a good gallop through the early stages, Moore was content to bide his time and hold up Snow Fairy in mid-division.
Lady Lupus then laid down her challenge from the "˜Elbow' with Epsom runner-up Meeznah in close attendance with Akdarena, but none of them had any answers as Moore launched Snow Fairy with a thrilling bid for glory through the closing two furlongs.
She hit the front from well over a furlong out and showed her rivals a clean pair of heels, picking up in top-class fashion.
It was an exhilarating burst of speed - and impressively sustained too.
The outcome simply wasn't in doubt from the moment she took charge at the head of affairs . All connected to La Grange Stables could just enjoy the closing strides, safe in the knowledge that the win was secure as a marvellous equine athlete confirmed her superiority in the 2010 three-year-old fillies' middle-distance division.
