We have two runners at The Shergar Cup meeting this Saturday with Bantam and Trip To Pairs heading to the Berkshire track.
Bantam has drawn jockey Olivier Peslier in The Shergar Cup Challenge Handicap. Bantam is having her second start of the season and has been pleasing us at home. Olivier is one of the top international jockeys riding these days and has ridden for Ed on numerous occasions, most memorably winning on the fantastic Ouija Board in The Prince Of Wales Stakes at Royal Ascot. This will be Olivier’s third Shergar Cup appearance and he is riding for the Europe team.
Our other runner is Trip To Paris who is heading back to Ascot for the third time in a row. He ran a superb race at Royal Ascot in The King George V Stakes where he finished sixth of the eighteen runners. He then went on to win The Cainsbay Bloodstock Handicap by 1 ¾ lengths under Ryan Moore. Trip To Paris runs in The Shergar Cup Classic Handicap and he has the very capable South African based jockey, S’manga Khumalo on board who has ridden over 750 winners including eight Grade 1 victories. S’manga is riding for the rest of the world team and is nicknamed “Bling” due to his liking of diamond jewellery and his peroxide blonde hair!
Best of luck to The Brooke Kelly Partnership who own Bantam and The la Grange Partnership who own Trip To Paris.
