Zamjar
It is an extremely foggy morning here at HQ this morning. It’s only a week until Christmas and we will give most of the horses an easy time over the festive period. There is some fantastic National Hunt action to enjoy today and the Long Walk has attracted a much bigger field than is usual. Lingfield plays host to the Listed Quebec Stakes and it looks an intriguing affair with Grendisar looking to get back in the winner’s circle having possibly needed his comeback run.
Arnarson ran very well when finishing second up at Newcastle on Thursday. He travelled well and the front two pulled nicely clear of the rest, he may well have bumped into an above average newcomer. I liked the way he tried when headed and I am very hopeful we can win with him in the New Year.
We have two runners tomorrow at Lingfield. Zamjar contests the 6f Nursery at 12:55 and last time out winner Munro looks the horse to beat. He was much more clued up than on debut when winning at Kempton and the third has won since and the second from that race has been placed. Roundabout Magic won on his last start but this is a big step up in grade and if Kamra can come back to his Yarmouth form he would be a threat. Our horse has ability and he drops down in grade after contesting a warm Kempton 7f Nursery. He is sporting first time blinkers which I hope will help him concentrate.
Dutch Uncle runs in the 1m2f handicap and there does not appear to be a progressive type in the mould of Towerlands Park in here. It is still a fair race and Van Huysen has won three of his last six, Ansaab would be a threat to all if running to his best but he rarely wins whilst Modernism has moved to the shrewd Ian Williams stable and he is a course specialist. Our son of Dutch Art travelled well at Kempton before just failing to see out the 1m3f trip and if he can tuck into a good position from the widest draw he would have a solid each way chance.
