Canimar, who runs at Salisbury on Sunday
A slightly overcast morning in Newmarket today, but it was good to see some encouraging performances from our runners yesterday.
The Camelot two-year-old Sinjaari showed promise on debut at Sandown, running on in eye-catching fashion from the back of the pack amongst a field of promising sorts. Later on the same card Dagueneau confirmed himself an improving young stayer when second over a mile and three-quarters, coping with a four pound rise in the weights but just meeting one too good. At Goodwood it was heartening to see Tadleel return to form in the mile 0-85 handicap, putting a couple of below par efforts behind him. It was frustrating not to get the win, but hopefully his time will come soon.
We have a rare blank Saturday with no runners, but I can offer an update for our filly Canimar who runs at Salisbury on Sunday. A daughter of Havana Gold, she ran three times last year and displayed some talent when fourth in a seven-furlong fillies’ novice at Newmarket. She didn’t show her form in first time blinkers on her comeback at Lingfield, but hopefully we will see something more promising tomorrow.
All the best,
Ed.
