ROYAL HEART gets team Ed Dunlop Racing off the mark for 2022 with an impressive win at Kempton.
The four-year-old son of Wootton Bassett was stepped back up in trip to seven furlongs on Wednesday night, with a hood fitted for the first time. Partnered with useful three pound claimer, Rhys Clutterbuck, Royal Heart had his work cut out drawn wide in stall eight. Clutterbuck settled Royal Heart nicely on the rail out the back of the field where he sat patiently until turning the bend for home. Two furlongs from home, Clutterbuck kicked on and Royal Heart came with a good run from off the pace to go on to lead inside the last, winning comfortably.
Congratulations to his owner, Mr Paul Turner!
