It was just seven days later that Roca Magica would return to the parade ring at Chelmsford racecourse.
The only slight change would be her partner, this time super sub Luke Morris would take the ride. She found herself positioned further back than ideal and moving strongly the pair began to spy a gap through the field. With the first gap quickly closing and the second looking likely to do the same they bravely squeezed through. Once in the clear she set about closing down old rival Grandee Daisy, and that she did, by a short head.
As the owners gathered round to await the call of the photo finish it was a relief when the announcement was made “first number 8, Roca Magica!” Cheers erupted and Roca’s owners could breathe again.
Huge congratulations must continue to go out to the owners of this horse. They have been extremely patient and it’s brilliant to see them enjoying all the success they deserve. A big hats off must go to Sabrina and Skye, who have both done fantastically well with her at home.
