Red Galileo & Muhammed
The Derby was a thrilling renewal and we were all extremely proud of Red Galileo’s fifth placing. He ran a superb race under up and coming apprentice Oinsin Murphy, to finish fifth, giving his owners a fantastic day out. Red Galileo was settled at the rear of the field and was still sat last turning into the straight. He stayed on well over the last furlong beating Sandown’s Classic Trial winner, Western Hymm, a head for fifth. Red Galileo seems to have come out of his race well and has been enjoying extra picks of grass in the sunshine!
Australia winning The Derby bought back fond memories of his mother, Ouija Board, winning The Oaks for us in 2004. She was a fantastic racehorse winning seven Group Ones worldwide and is now proving to be a Group One broodmare.
“We are thrilled with the way he ran. It was proven to be the right decision to run in The Derby and I am delighted for Red Galileo’s owners. I’m also extremely proud to have trained the mother of a Derby winner as well. ”
