RED CADEAUX gained a well deserved win in the Sportingbet Yorkshire Cup (Group 2) on the Knavesmire today under Tom McLaughlin. The son of Cadeaux Genereux tracked the leaders before making smooth headway three furlongs out and stayed on strongly in the closing stages to beat Glen's Diamond by a comfortable length. It was a welcome return to winning ways for the Ronald Arculli owned six year old, who came within a nose of landing the Melbourne Cup last November. The gelding had made an impressive comeback a fortnight ago when finishing second in the Sagaro Stakes and today's win was a huge achievement for a horse that has been the bridesmaid many times.
