NATIVE KHAN made an impressive start to his career with a smooth win in a 7f maiden at Newmarket this afternoon
The son of Azamour, brought for 180,000 guineas at the breeze-ups, was sent off a 14/1 shot and won in the style of a decent horse in the making.
Jockey Kieren Fallon settled his mount close to the pace where he travelled sweetly.
Once hitting the front with 2f to go he showed a smart turn of foot to quicken clear and win by three and a quarter lengths.
Trainer Ed Dunlop said: "œHe's done it well and Kieren was impressed. He liked him and said he'd given him a good feel and he's got a good temperament."
"œAs for future plans, I don't know, being by Azamour I think he will get further but he will be sparingly campaigned this year."
