Roca Magica
It was a good weekend’s racing for everyone at La Grange as Roca Magica and Alternative Fact secured a double for the yard on Derby Day.
Alternative Fact has been a consistent horse all year and after a very creditable third in the Silver Hunt Cup went two better at Haydock on Saturday in bottomless ground. Having settled in behind he travelled well throughout under the hands of Jason Watson and turning for home he made his move down the far side rail putting the race to bed in a matter of strides with a devastating turn of foot. It was a very well deserved win for a real yard favourite.
The double was sealed later on in the day when Roca Magica made the short trip down to Yarmouth. She has been in great form all year and once again showed why she is such a great servant to the stable winning her fourth race for us. She sat out the back in a small field and travelled strongly throughout and with 2 furlongs to go had every horse off the bridle. Callum Shepherd then made his move and she readily quickened and got the job done.
Most of the horses ran with real promise over the weekend and a mention has to go out to Parikarma and Alablaq who ran good races at Doncaster to both finish second and Tashbeeh who ran a pleasing race in what looked like a strong Yarmouth maiden to finish third.
It is a quiet start to this week but should pick up later in the week with a few weekend runners planned.
I will keep you updated as to how we get on.
Have a lovely week everyone,
All the Best,
Ed
