Qaaraat
It looks like being a busier week coming up and Friday and Saturday could be very busy. We had some rain overnight here in Newmarket and we have had some more light rain today.
Al Nafoorah settled beautifully on her return from a short break and she won well at Sandown. She has been tough and genuine all season and having wandered if she would ever win after she was second four times in a row, she has now won three times for us in 2017! Blushing Red found the ground too fast for his liking and did not let himself down on the ground, he needs cut to be fully effective.
We run two horses this afternoon. Qaaraat makes his Nursery debut in the 2:40 at Ripon. He is consistent but remains a Maiden and has been slightly frustrating. The horse that won his Chepstow Novice has since won in Nursery company and I hope he can be competitive today. Porchy Party won narrowly recently and Jane Elliott takes five off to offset the penalty whilst Undercover Brother is very consistent. Life For Rent has been well found in the market and he remains lightly raced, so it will be interesting to see how he fares.
Warrior Prince runs in the 2:50 at Windsor. I would have ideally liked good ground but this ground will be better than the very deep ground he encountered at Doncaster last time. If he can bounce back and run close to the form he showed last year then he would have a chance and he is a horse that has always shown us plenty at home but he is starting to look disappointing. Milky Way’s second last time has been franked and Essenaitch beat Michael’s Mount here on softish ground and the rain will help him.
