Qaaraat

Blue skies here at HQ and it has been a pleasant morning with a gentle breeze. The weather has generally taken a turn for the worse recently and the ground is on the soft side nearly everywhere. We are due more midweek rain so the fast ground horses are unlikely to get their ground for a little while longer. It was a very good performance from Enable in the King George, she travelled well and beat a decent field convincingly. It will be fantastic to see her in the Arc and if Almanzor makes it there too in October then it will be a very strong renewal.

Dark Red ran well when third here at Newmarket on Saturday and Sparte Quercus did not stay at Chester and looks like he ideally wants good ground.

We run Qaaraat at Wolverhampton in the 6:15. He has a had a break post his gelding operation and I am hoping that it will prove beneficial. He has run in some decent contests and he has a good chance of breaking his Maiden this evening. It is an interesting race as Pranceabootthetoon won well on debut and has a seven pound claimer onboard which more than offsets the penalty. Bobby’s Charm is bred for this surface and he shaped with promise at Newbury whilst Ghepardo ran well on debut but has to bounce back from a disappointing run last time. I think the 5f around Wolverhampton will suit our horse well.
