Alemaratalyoum
We had some more rain last night which was much appreciated and it’s turned into a pleasant morning with a light breeze blowing across the heath. It looks like Epsom had a large amount of rain overnight and the ground is officially good to soft but with dry weather forecast for the majority of the week it will soon dry out. The Derby meeting should start on beautiful ground.
Manjaam travelled very well at Goodwood on Saturday and shaped as if he didn’t stay 1m6f, we will drop him back to 1m4f next time.
We just have the one runner at Windsor later on today. Alemaratalyoum won on his seasonal debut at Newcastle and then we were disappointed when he was fifth at Kempton although he ran respectably. The good to soft ground should suit him and he has run well on it before at Newbury so he should run his race. It looks the more competitive of the two divisions and Call Me Grumpy looks like he could be a well handicapped horse. Rita’s Man is chasing a hat-trick and although 1m2f may suit better he has won over a mile and he has a very capable claimer taking seven pounds off his back. Tennessee Rose ran well at Yarmouth and pulled well clear of the rest of the field and only up one pound she could run well.
