Winter has well and truly set in at La Grange and with it forecast to be the coldest and wettest November on record, we our all hoping that the weather picks up entering the Christmas period.
Last week was a successful one for the yard with Homesick Boy running second at Chelmsford and if it hadn’t been for the slow pace he would have probably got the job done. He is a quirky horse and I feel things are beginning to click for him so I am confident of further improvement. Helian was very tough at Lingfield and having been headed fought back to win over a mile and a quarter on Saturday.
Looking further ahead to the week upon us we have three runners today at Chelmsford in African Sun, Spandavia and Roca Magica.
African Sun runs in a Novice over 1 mile at 4.30pm. The race looks strong with the well bred unraced son of Dubawi in Montather being the one to beat. I expect him to run a nice race but he will be open to plenty of improvement once he has gained a mark.
Spandavia runs in the 7 furlong maiden at 5.30pm. This is another strong race and I expect her to come on for the run and progress further when running in handicaps.
Roca Magica runs in the 0-52 Handicap over 7 Furlongs at 6.30pm. Her work has been pleasing at home and being drawn one with plenty of pace in the race should put us in the right spot. I have added cheek pieces to help her concentrate and with her best form coming on the all-weather, I hope her to be very competitive today.
Later in the week we have plenty of entries and I will keep you updated as to where we will be running.
Have a fantastic week.
Many Thanks,
Ed
