I have had a fantastic few days on Safari and we have been lucky enough to see four of the big five. We look like having a few runners this week and all of them would have a chance so I hope we can get another winner. Ode To Paris was very disappointing on Friday, he was keen in the early stages of the race but he still stopped very quickly and this was not his true running.
We have two runners today at Wolverhampton, Magdalene Fox has a much better draw than last time and I hope he can back up his win last time with another solid run. It is a competitive race with Scotch Myst looking one of the more likely dangers after improving lately for the step up to 6f. Oh Geno and Gentleman Giles are both closely matched too and most of the field have recent placed or winning form.
Dutch Uncle moves back up in grade in the 2:55 and I have applied a visor in the hope it will make him concentrate. He travels well in his races which suggests he can cope with this drop back in trip but it is a slight unknown. Mythical Madness has been very consistent of late and is proven over course and distance whilst Perfect Cracker is another dropping back in trip who needs to prove he can cope with this extended mile. Lacan has a lot of ability but he is returning from a break whilst on the opposite end of the scale Byres Road needs to back up a solid run on Saturday night. Supersta also ran on Saturday and he was slightly disappointing when fading late on. We are hopeful of a good run.
