Manhattanville justified favouritism when breaking his maiden at Newcastle under a brilliantly timed ride from Paul Hanagan.
Starting from stall four, Manhattanville jumped well and sat just off the leader where he settled nicely. Still with plenty in hand two furlongs out, Hanagan squeezed the son of Tamayuz into the lead where he carried on strongly to win by a comfortable length and a quarter.
Owned and bred by Mrs Patino, Manhattanville descends from the family of ELUSIVE PIMPERNEL who was trained by John Dunlop to win the Group 3 Acomb Stakes as a two-year-old.
Manhattanville is a pleasure to train and we hope will progress further from this run.
