Maiden victories for Havana Sky and Cuban Harry

Wed 11 September 2024

As the end of the turf season seems to be rapidly approaching and summer comes to an end it has been rewarding to see both Havana Sky and Cuban Harry score maiden victories.

The lightly raced Havana Sky missed the first part of his season due to picking up a small in the early part of the year. After having taken a few runs to get back into the swing of things, combined with a drop back down to 6f, he crossed the line in front at Thirsk for the EDR Partnership, ridden by PJ McDonald. With any luck he will be back in the winner’s enclosure before the season ends.

The slightly more frustrating Cuban Harry, who has always shown promise at home and during his 2-year-old career, was proving difficult to win with until delivering a success over 1m at Wolverhampton for the very patient 2 Under Partnership. Steered to victory by Dougie Costello who gave him a confident ride producing him timely in the final furlong. Hopefully he can pull his finger out once again for the partnership to see him return to the winners enclosure.

Congratulations to all connections.
