Hanaady broke her maiden on the second time of asking at Nottingham on Wednesday. Owned by Shadwell Estate Company Ltd, the two-year-old daughter of Night of Thunder was paired with retained jockey, Jim Crowley.
Jumping prominently from stall ten, Crowley settled Hanaady towards the front of the thirteen runner field. With a steady pace set by the Ian Williams trained Typical Women, Crowley was poised to make his move within the final furlong. Varian’s nicely bred debutant, Divine Jewel, was pressing hard on the inside rail towards the finish, but Hanaady kept on nicely to win by half a length, claiming the £20,000 Great British Bonus prize when doing so.
Many congratulations to all involved, including her owner, Shadwell Estate.
