Ground perfect for Snow Fairy

Fri 29 July 2011

It has been sunshine and Pimms all week at Glorious Goodwood, so, while the drying ground did for RED CADEAUX in Thursday's 'Cup', conditions underfoot are ideal for our stable-star SNOW FAIRY, who goes for more glory in the £185,000 G1 Nassau Stakes on the fifth and final day.

Ed said:"Snow Fairy has come on a lot for her run in the Eclipse at Sandown, where she just got tired after such a long absence. She blew for 45 minutes afterwards, but she worked fantastic on Tuesday morning under Ryan Moore, and, though it is disappointing that he cannot ride, we are lucky to have Frankie (Dettori). He has not ridden the filly before, but she is straight-forward, and, while it is a very hot race, we are going there to win and the ground will be perfect."

"We have KANAF in the Stewards Cup. He won really well at Ascot and is another who will relish the fast ground. We came out early for the draw and opted to go stands side, but you want to be where the speed is and I was relieved to find that at least we have Nasri in our group. It's a lottery, but if you are not in you can't win."

"We also have DUBAI MEDIA in the consolation race. She is a Listed filly back in handicaps and she, too, has been drawn high, so I hope we have got the draw right."

"I will also be keeping an eye on goings on at Newmarket, where we have PIRANHA running in the nursery. She has won a couple on the all-weather, but she is an improving filly and a typical Exceed and Excel in that she has bags of speed."
