TTP team enjoying the limelight.

Cold and miserable once again.

The sales marathon finally concludes this evening, at least from the perspective of yearlings, and while the two weeks are always good fun, it will be nice to have a break for a little while. We have the small matter of 1700 horses in training to get through starting Monday week, but that doesn’t concern us to quite the same degree.

We have a number of yearlings who do not yet have owners and we may consider syndicating these in due course. They can be found on our website by following this link: http://t.co/JQcKOZj2GZ

No runners this afternoon but we have an important one tomorrow morning as Trip To Paris lines up in the Caulfield Cup. The race is at a reasonably sociable hour from our perspective being due off 7.40am (ATR), so it isn’t a middle-of-the-night job and our lads will have already ridden one lot!

Tomorrow will be the first time TTP has run over a mile and a half since his Lingfield handicap victory in the spring and it is clearly a big ask to take on horses with established Group form at the trip. That said, TTP is a stayer with a turn of foot, is nicely drawn and gets his favoured ground so I don’t think he should be dismissed on the assumption he is not quick enough. Hopefully Tommy Berry will be able to jump and sit handy from stall five and we will keep everything crossed for a clear run.

In terms of our opposition, the race is intriguing. The lightly-raced trio of Mongolian Khan, Haruaki and Set Square are the obvious improvers who look well worth a crack against the cream of the crop, while we know all about Snow Sky from his exploits over here and his Hardwicke victory is arguably the strongest piece of form on offer. Fame Game could be the real joker in the pack as his form in Japan is top-notch, although it's hard to tell if he will will be quite as effective at this trip while plenty, like us, are building towards the big one on November 3. This looks a real puzzle for punters!

Back tomorrow with reaction from the race.
