Same Jurisdiction
It is another dry day here at HQ and we therefore used the Watered Gallop this morning during first lot. I worked a double handful of horses and I hope to introduce some more two year olds to the track during the course of next week. We declared Trip To Paris and Dark Red for The Curragh on Sunday and they left early this morning, there are only six runners in The Irish Leger and I was hoping it may be five but Wicklow Brave was declared just before declarations closed. I am looking forward to seeing him in action and although the favourite will be very hard to beat, there is very good prize money on offer.
Oasis Fantasy did not like the ground at Doncaster on Wednesday, I was hoping it dried enough but it was too sticky for him. Global Applause travelled very well in the big sales race yesterday but he found a lot of trouble in running and ended up on the slowest part of the track, he met some more trouble when the first two or three had already gone and finished eighth. We still feel he stays this trip and will more than likely run him over six furlongs next time but this was a run to draw a line through.
We run Same Jurisdiction in the Sceptre over seven furlongs today at Doncaster, it is her first run since she moved over to us from South Africa and we are very much still learning about her. It looks a very competitive race for a Group 3 with Nemoralia heading the dangers, she has a potent turn of foot and is a very classy filly. Lumiere is very good when she is firing and we shall see later which Lumiere turns up, Spangled is also a talented filly. We wanted to start her off over seven furlongs against her own sex and this is why we run here. She is a classy filly having won the Grade 1 Thekweni Stakes at two and the Grade 1 Garden Province Stakes last year at a trip just short of a mile. We hope she can show us plenty of promise to build on for the future.
