Global Style 05/07/17
A beautiful day here in HQ at the moment. The ground looks like it is going to be genuinely good ground which will be ideal for my two debutants at the July Course. I am heading off to Deauville for the Arqana Yearling Sales and there looks to be plenty of nice types in the catalogue.
Both of the horses ran well yesterday. Blushing Red settled much better at Chepstow and won well as a consequence, it has taken a bit of time to get him to relax but now he has I hope we can have some fun with him going forward. Mulzim was second behind a horse that looked to have improved for a return to Yarmouth, he travelled nicely and was a comfortable second but just didn’t seem to have the speed of the winner.
We run three horses this evening at Newmarket and Wolverhampton. Alternative Fact runs in the Novice Auction at HQ which is run at 5:20. He is a good looking son of Dalakhani who will improve with age and he is a horse I like. This is very much his first day at school but I would not be surprised to see him run well. La Diva ran a very encouraging race on debut and she will take all the beating, Highlight Reel has plenty of experience and has shown a fair level of ability too.
Global Style runs in a race with a rich heritage and he is a half-brother to the Group 1 winner Belardo. He is very much a work in progress and I wanted to start him off here on the doorstep. I would imagine there will be plenty of nice types here on show this evening and some of them will be more forward than our horse but I hope he runs with credit.
Sir Gnet heads to Wolverhampton and he has put in some solid displays recently without winning. The course and the distance should suit but it does seem to be a competitive race. African drops down two grades and he has strong claims whilst Dreaming Time is still unexposed and Plead is another down in grade that could go well. Our horse has each way claims and I hope he can run well once more.
