It is a chilly but dry December’s morning today. We continue to educate the yearlings and we have been able to get them out on the heath all week despite the cold weather. They will have a short break over Christmas and then I will start them back cantering in the New Year.
Mr Gent went very close at Kempton and was just denied by an improving type. The pair were well clear of the third and although it was frustrating to be beaten he ran well. Sanam did not show us a lot on his third start and he looks like he needs to step up in trip to 1m2f.
Global Wonder is our only runner today. He has been disappointing since making a promising debut and we are stepping him up in trip this evening. We are hoping he stays rather than being certain he will and the track has been harrowed deep recently which means the 1m2f will take a fair bit of getting. If he does stay then I hope he can run well in this grade but he does need to finish his race off and it is very much a watching brief with him. Trick Shot Jenny has a lot of stamina in her pedigree on her dam’s side so despite being by Acclamation she could well take this step up in trip in her stride. Gembari is also interesting having shown much more last time and could be the biggest danger whilst Progressive Jazz is likely to be in the mix given he has proven himself at this trip.
