We had some more rain overnight here at HQ but after some rain over the weekend we still look set for a dry spell next week with some sunshine. The Craven meeting is still likely to start on softish ground but it should dry out significantly come Thursday.
Global Style was a little keen in the early stages of his race last night and failed to see out the final furlong and a half of hsi race. He shaped quite well and we will drop him back in trip when he is next seen.
Mudallel has been drawn in the car park this evening at Kempton and it will be tough for him from stall 13. He will come on a little for this run tonight but I hope he can run respectably and the more pace that is injected into the race the better his chance will be. This seemed like a perfect starting point for him given his successes here and the recent wet weather.
Samharry remains lightly raced and was returning from a lengthy layoff when just touched off by an ex stablemate at Newcastle. Lacan and Oud Metha Bridge both go well at Kempton and are closely matched. Cainhoe Star will run his race and is consistent but the handicapper may have his measure currently. Sir Roderic has become potentially very well handicapped but this is his all-weather debut. Dark Alliance has been in terrific form and Spirit Of Belle was in top form when last seen at the backend of last year. It is a competitive race with one lightly raced type in it and I hope we can run well but I would be hopeful rather than confident given the draw and the fact others have race fitness on their side.
