Four for Nottingham on Tuesday

Mon 16 May 2011

Things are beginning to move up a gear, and, while, like everyone else, we could do with some proper rain, we have four runners at Nottingham on Tuesday, BAQAAT in the fillies handicap, ABEER in the Classified, and two debutants in the two-year-old race, BURWAAZ and ONE NEW CAT.

Ed said:"Baqaat confirmed the promise she showed at Lingfield when winning at Epsom, and she went up only 4lb so must have prospects of following up in a race which has cut up badly."

"Abeer ran a smashing comeback at Lingfield, only tiring in the last 100 yards. She is a big, powerful filly, who comes from the same family as Prix Vermeille winner Sierra Padre, so, though she is stepping up in trip, her pedigree suggests that she will stay."

"Burwaaz is probably our most precocious two-year-old. He is an Exceed And Excel half-brother to Sadafiya, who won twice for us last year, but, whereas she was small and did not have the best of knees, this one is a strong, powerful colt with a good temperament. His pedigree screams speed, and we have all been looking forward to this debut. We also run One New Cat, who, surprise surprise, is a colt by One Cool Cat, and it will be good to get him started, too."
