The sun is shining and the stage is set fair for a brilliant opening day at Royal Ascot, but for La Grange Stables the meeting kick-starts on Wednesday when FAREER carries our hopes under topweight in the 30-runner Royal Hunt Cup.
Fareer has the same draw (16) as he had last year when finishing a respectable 11th, and, though a 25-1 chance, Ed feels that he has a sporting each-way chance. He said:"Fareer won the Britannia here two years ago, and he loves the track. He never got a run in the Hambleton at York last time, yet was still beaten over three lengths, finishing hard on the bridle. Obviously, it will be tough off his mark of 109, but, though he wore a visor three times in Dubai, we are trying him in first-time blinkers and it just might make a difference."
