Double on the evening at Kempton

Fri 16 August 2024

On Wednesday evening at Kempton Park Racecourse, after what had been a frustrating few weeks with horses running well but not winning, Damascus Steel and Fearless Bay secured a quickfire double.

Damascus Steel scored in the first division of the 1m4f Class 4 Handicap under Neil Callan for Unity Racing and Jess Ball back at a track where he has been successful before. This 4 yo gelded son of Mastercraftsman is a very willing partner on his day with the right conditions and will certainly be seen again back on the racecourse soon.

The second division of the race saw Fearless Bay cross the line in front, under PJ McDonald, for the first time since October 2022, an appearance that subsequently caused him to sustain an injury resulting in him being off the track for the whole of 2023. The boss and the team have done a fantastic job to get him back to the races and to secure a win is the cherry on top for owner Mr Turner. A horse with ability, and the winner of 5 races, he looks one likely to progress rewarding connections patience.

Congratulations as always go to all connections.
