DHERGHAAM registered a first career success when he took a 7f maiden at Catterick yesterday evening. Sheikh Hamdan's son of Exceed and Excel was sent off the 100/30 second favourite following his good second at Lingfield on his seasonal bow.
For this colt's second outing, jockey Tadhg O'Shea was able to settle him just on the heels of the leader.
Turning into the straight Dherghaam still travelled sweetly and he went about closing the deal with minimal fuss, ultimately scoring by nearly four lengths.
