Derby and Lincoln Entries

Wed 07 March 2012

Yesterday saw the first scratching deadline for the Derby, leaving Homeric as our remaining entry from the La Grange yard. The Montjeu colt is owned by the Highclere Thoroughbred Racing – Jackson syndicate. He had one run towards the end of the season at Nottingham over a mile on testing ground.

Ed quoted, ‘We always liked this horse last year and were encouraged by his first run. He has wintered well, and has recently started some faster work. It is very much a tentative entry, as he will have to prove himself on the racecourse first'.

We also left Voodoo Prince in the William Hill Lincoln which takes place at the end of this month. He is currently 54th in the handicap, being rated 87 with a maximum field of 22 runners. However, there is a consolation race on the same day, which could be on the agenda. Voodoo Prince is the first foal to the multiple Group One winner Ouija Board, who was trained by Ed at his former base, Gainsborough Stables.
