ASCRIPTION made his handicap debut a winning one at Haydock on Saturday night when taking the 0-75 handicap over a mile under Paul Mulrennan. The son of Dansili was held up in the early stages, before making smooth progress to chase the leader and stayed on well to get up to win by a head. This three year old was purchased at Deauville as a yearling by Charlie Gordon Watson for present owner Mr Vefa Ibrahim Araci and he is a half brother to Grand Couturier, who won eight races and was placed thirteen times in France and in the USA.
